The first step in the search for coat hangers

Selecting the material

Let's take a look at the materials: wood, plastic and metal are the most common materials that hangers are made of. It's not easy to say which material is the best choice. Each of these materials has specific advantages and disadvantages that can be used smartly. Strong wooden hangers, for example, are ideal for heavy jackets and coats, but they often take up a little more space in the closet.

Plastic and metal hangers are great for saving space, but are not as stable as wooden hangers. However, narrow wooden hangers are now available that are remarkably robust and inexpensive despite their low profile. To give you a better idea of the materials, we will briefly introduce them to you here:

Plastic coat hanger

Lightweight, versatile in shape, colour and size, and inexpensive - strong reasons for a plastic hanger. To counteract your environmental concerns, we manufacture our plastic hangers exclusively from recycled plastic.

The place of use determines the type of hanger

When we enquire about the needs of our customers during a customer consultation, we typically work through a catalogue of questions that provides us with all the important information we need to ultimately make a precise statement about the right clothes hanger. Below we present these questions and provide helpful information to help you choose the ideal clothes hanger.

Whether it's in your wardrobe at home or on the rack in a retail store - sometimes it's just too full. Which clothes hanger is best for limited space?

One thing is certain: a large collection of clothes with limited space requires narrow hangers. Plastic hangers with a thickness of 7 mm or more are very suitable here, for example, and are unbeatable in terms of cost compared to wooden hangers. However, there is also a wide selection of models and materials for narrow wooden hangers. Flat hangers made of lotus wood are widely used and hangers made of beech wood offer even better quality. If you want to opt for beech wood, single hangers could be an alternative, which are available from less than 1 euro.

If you want to maximise the potential of your hangers, you can consider hangers with combined features such as a trouser bar and skirt notches. This allows you to store complete outfits on a single hanger to save space. This also saves a lot of space.

To maximise the comfort of your garments, choosing the right hanger is essential.

If you want to save your clothes from unsightly dents, you need to pay attention to how the garment sits on the hanger. The length of the hanger is particularly important here. Women and people with narrow shoulders will be particularly familiar with this problem - standard hangers are around 44 cm long. If you hang a small item of clothing on a standard hanger, the ends of the hanger often protrude far into the sleeves of the top, causing dents.

Once you have determined the right hanger size for your favourite items, all that remains is to choose the right hanger shape. Angled hangers have proven their worth here. As our shoulders are not straight and flat, these hangers imitate the natural shoulder area best.

Inexpensive moulded hangers made of lotus wood are available here, which are comparable in price to moulded hangers made of plastic. If you value quality, durability and individuality, you should consider moulded hangers made of beech wood.

If you also want to store blazers, jackets and heavy jackets or coats perfectly, you can opt for hangers with shoulder extensions at the ends of the legs. The extensions range from 30 mm for ladies' blazers to 60 mm for larger items of clothing and heavy coats. Such widened hangers are now available in various materials, sizes and shapes. For exclusive suits, we have something very special in stock: model hangers that maintain the natural shape of your special garments and prevent creases.

Instead of cheap plastic hangers or plain wooden hangers, you should look for special coat hangers for your wardrobe. These feature high-quality workmanship, an attractive appearance and are perfect for heavy loads, as heavy jackets and coats often hang on the coat rack.

In most cases, elegant wooden coat hangers are recommended, which give the entrance area an appealing touch. However, stylish coat hangers made of metal or plastic are now also available. The choice of material and design should reflect your individual taste and preferences and blend in perfectly with the rest of the interior.

Laundry care made easy: convenient drying on hangers saves you a lot of work and time!

Everyday housework, such as doing the laundry, is a tedious chore for many people. The washing machine beeps softly and then the mountain of laundry has to be taken out of the machine. Finally, the tedious threading onto the lines of the clothes horse. But why not hang the damp tops on hangers to dry?

Simply shake out the garment once or twice, hang it up and you're done. This way you avoid pressure marks from the washing line and ironing later is quick and easy.

If you want to dry your tops on hangers, you should be careful not to use wooden hangers. The moisture could cause the wood to swell and cause damage. In addition, varnished wooden hangers can discolour. Plastic or metal hangers with an anti-slip coating are therefore best. This is especially true if you dry your clothes outdoors in summer. The coating ensures that your clothes stay securely on the hanger even in windy weather.

For those who value more than just the tidy storage of tops and trousers, there are a wide range of options. Functional hangers are intelligently designed for specific purposes. For example, scarves or ties can be stowed away to save space and boots can be optimally stored on special boot holders. There are even clothes hangers for X-ray aprons. As you can see, we have the right hanger for every item of clothing in our range.

Everything you need to know about:

Wooden clothes hangers

Wooden hangers may be a little more expensive than plastic or metal hangers, but they often last a lifetime. They are impressive due to their remarkable stability and are both visually and haptically appealing. This is why they are often found in exclusive boutiques, restaurants or in the closets of posh hotels. But they don't just look good there! Wooden hangers also fit stylishly into your wardrobe at home or on the coat rack in the hallway. However, please note that wooden hangers take up more space than models made of other materials. This does, however, have the advantage that the clothes are better ventilated and the closet or coat rack looks tidier overall.

What kind of wood are hangers made of?

Clothes hangers can be made from almost any type of wood. The most popular woods are beech, oak, pine or cedar. But clothes hangers made from lotus wood are also very popular for both private and commercial use thanks to their low weight and inexpensive production.

How are wooden hangers made?

Wooden coat hangers are made in many different ways - theoretically there are no limits. They are often made from one, two or more pieces of wood and then fitted with a hook for hanging. There are also special hook variants for hotels that prevent the coat hangers from being stolen from the closets, for example.

What surface treatments are available for wooden hangers?

When it comes to surface treatments, a distinction is essentially made between varnished and rough-sanded coat hangers. There are also versions with flocking or a soft-touch surface. With untreated, sanded hangers, careful processing is important to prevent the clothes hanging on them from being damaged by protruding splinters or a surface that is too rough.

The natural wood color doesn't fit into my ambience - what now?

There is a nice solution for this case too: Coat hangers with a top coat finish are an attractive way to hide the natural wood grain. The most common variants are black and white, but there is also the option of painting in a variety of RAL colors.

If you like the wood grain but the natural wood tone does not match your interior, there is a solution: staining! Wooden hangers can be customized with different stain tones such as walnut, mahogany, wenge or classic white and black.

What types of wooden hangers are there?

Wooden hangers offer a wide range of options: When it comes to saving space, the flat hanger is the optimal choice. It is particularly suitable for narrow closets or limited storage spaces. The shaped hanger, on the other hand, is ideal for those who are concerned about keeping their clothes in precise shape. It is characterized by a special angle of inclination and a contoured shape that mimics the natural shoulder area.

For simple yet effective organization of the wardrobe, plain hangers are ideal. These reduced hangers are an inexpensive way to give the wardrobe a uniform look. Laminated hangers add a touch of fashionable flair, which are trendy thanks to their two-tone color and are visually appealing.

Even for the smallest order lovers, there are children's hangers specially tailored to their size.

Overall, the variety in our shop ranges from models for trousers and skirts to hangers for ties and accessories. Special shoulder hangers are available for suits or heavy jackets. The special thing about many of these types of hangers is the possibility of combining them with special features. These include non-slip bars that prevent clothing from slipping, as well as skirt cuts that optimally store tops, dresses and skirts.

The most important things about:

Metal hangers

Metal is often initially rejected as a material for clothes hangers. This is often due to the widespread perception of wire hangers, which are seen as less stable and functional. In fact, many metal hangers, especially in laundries, are made of thin wire, which can lead to deformation. However, there are also robust versions made of steel strip or aluminum tube.

Metal hangers are just as space-saving as plastic hangers and also offer an excellent way to dry laundry - even outdoors. Specially coated models prevent the wind from blowing the still damp clothes off the hanger.

What metal are metal hangers made of?

The metals used are diverse: from aluminum and wire to ordinary and rust-proof steel and stainless steel. In principle, flexible wire hangers can be distinguished from stable versions made of steel strip or aluminum tube. The latter are often available as coat hangers and can be found in striking colors such as red, yellow or green.

How are wire hangers made?

Wire hangers are made using cold forming. The starting wire is not heated, but is usually shaped into the desired form using CNC-controlled wire bending machines. This means that a wide range of wire types can be used. A frequently chosen option is nickel- or chrome-plated stainless steel. Wire variants with a brass or rose gold coating are also used. Most hangers made from wire are designed without a rotating hook, as this is usually welded. Many models can be coated with an anti-slip coating.

How are coat hangers made from steel strip?

Steel strip coat hangers are made using large metal presses. In the first step, these cut the steel strip into pieces of different sizes, depending on the desired hanger size. During the cutting process, the machine forms each piece of steel strip into a U-shape, which later gives the coat hanger greater stability. Steel band coat hangers can also be coated with an anti-slip coating and in many cases have a rotating hook, which proves to be extremely practical.

Interesting information about:

Plastic hangers

Since the end of the 20th century, plastic hangers have become increasingly popular. Due to their low manufacturing costs, they are not only popular in many clothing stores, but are also ideal for use at home. Compared to wooden hangers, they offer the advantage that freshly washed laundry can dry on them, which makes it easier to iron shirts and blouses later if the items of clothing are shaped beforehand.

Currently, plastic hangers still have a bad reputation, as they are often seen as fragile, cheap products that are not environmentally friendly. In fact, however, they are very versatile and can be used for all types of clothing. If the material is thick enough, they can even hold heavy jackets or coats. In addition, their narrow shape saves space. In order to address the issue of sustainability, we, like many other manufacturers, now use recycled plastic granulate.

What plastic are the hangers made of?

The majority of our hangers are made from two main materials: polypropylene and polystyrene. Polypropylene plastic hangers are flexible and ideal for lighter garments such as blouses, shirts or t-shirts. They also handle sweatshirts and thinner sweaters without any problem. When it comes to heavier garments such as jackets or even coats, a sturdy plastic hanger made of polystyrene is the right choice.

How are plastic hangers made?

During production, we rely on the injection molding process. In this process, plastic granules are heated until they become liquid and then injected into a pre-made mold under high pressure. After the predefined cooling time, the tool opens and the hanger in the desired shape is ready. For convenient use, models with a rotating hook are recommended. In addition, buying plastic hangers made from recycled material contributes to environmental friendliness.
